June Rain

🌧️💔🚶‍♀️
June rain falls outside
My heart bleeds inside
Amidst the ruins of pain
A longing to unite remains
Yet, love often subsides
//
六月雨纷纷
心内血淋淋
痛苦的废墟中
想在一起到别离
但是爱情在哪里
Liù yuè yǔ fēnfēn
Xīn nèi xiě línlín
Tòngkǔ de fèixū zhōng
Xiǎng zài yīqǐ dào biélí
Dànshì àiqíng zài nǎlǐ
//
Lục nguyệt vũ phân phân
Tâm nội huyết lâm lâm
Thống khổ đích phế khư trung
Tưởng tại nhất khởi đáo biệt ly
Đãn thị ái tình tại na lý
//
Ngoài trời mưa rơi tháng sáu
Trong lòng rướm máu
Những hoang tàn nỗi đau
Muốn cùng đi đến khi biệt ly
Mà tình nào đâu mấy khi

Yunnan 2023, Day 8: Kunming And Back Home

Yunnan 2023, Day 8: Kunming And Back Home

This morning, I took a short troll to the Kunming’s Dounan Flower Market before going to the Kunming Changshui International Airport to take the flight back home.

When I got back home, I lost about 1 kg. I thought the food was quite okay, but maybe I didn’t eat enough.

In general, cities and towns in Yunnan have mild temperatures. I liked Dali, Shangri-La, and Kunming while they were cool and pleasant. Lijiang was a little too hot and dry the days I were there. The fruits there are so much like in Vietnam. They have everything tropical. In this June, they have lychee, and durian. Besides, they have a special Chinese bayberry which I didn’t recall eating it before it. Other berries and cherries are available at affordable price. This was better than in Vietnam.

The food wasn’t as oily as I had thought. They had a lot of vegetables, too.

Yunnan 2023, Day 7: Lijiang To Kunming

This was the first time I sat on a speed train in China. It wasn’t as speedy as I thought. The fastest speed I saw on the train was 198 km/h while I heard that it could be 250 km/h.

Around noon, I reached Kunming South Station. Then I went to the Kunming West Hill (Xishan Forest Park) where I took an old style cable car to the top. It was raining hard on my way down the hill, but the view to the DianChi Lake was so beautiful.

In the evening, I strolled around the night market near the C gate of the Fuhe Station. Here I bought a glass of fruit juices. So delicious! I also went to the supermarket for the last time to bought some noodles, congee, and milk tea to bring home tomorrow. This was the third time I had to ask for the bill at supermarkets in this trip. I wondered why Chinese people didn’t wanna know the details of what they’ve bought.

There were 2 fireworks at 10 p.m. I seemed to enjoy fireworks every time I went to China.

Featured photo will be updated later.

Yunnan 2023, Day 6: Potatso National Park

Yunnan 2023, Day 6: Potatso National Park

This morning, I went to visit the Potatso National Park in Shangri-La. The transfer bus to the inside of the park was the longest I’ve ever sit. The surrounding somehow reminded me of the Flower Lake (Hua Hu) in Ruoergai (Zoigê) which I visited in 2019. The elevation of this place was also the same, about 3,600m. But it was a pity I didn’t stroll a full round of the boardwalk.

After lunch, I said goodbye to the sunny and windy Shangri-La to get back to Lijiang by visiting the giant prayer wheel at the Guishan Park and the Shangri-la Inner Harmony Stupa of Pagoda.

When I got back to the same hotel in Lijiang, there was a crowd in front of the Huimin Supermarket. Turned out they were celebrating the International Children’s Day. I laughed when I heard children replying “shou ji” when they were asked what gift they wanted.

Tomorrow I’ll take the speed train for the first time in China to be back to Kunming.

Yunnan 2023, Day 2: Kunming To Dali

Yunnan 2023, Day 2: Kunming To Dali

I had breakfast early this morning despite lack of sleep. Luckily, the sour beef noodles wasn’t as spicy as in Sichuan. The lunch and dinner confirmed that, too. However, some dishes seemed to be very salty.

In the morning, the bus took 4 hours from Kunming to Dali. In Dali, I had the opportunity to visit Erhai Lake though the view wasn’t not similar to the one I saw in the drama “Meet Yourself” earlier this month. Then I also visit an old town called Xichou. This ancient town looked more like in drama though it was not the same, either.

The ancient wall of Dali looked spectacular in the late evening. It was fun cheering “Zhu ni sheng ri kuai le” with Chinese people down on the street when I heard them singing the birthday song up above a dormitory (I thought). Tomorrow, I’ll have another visit of the Ancient City Wall in Dali Old Town in the daylight.
