Zi Wei Dou Shu Constellation: Jiang Xing De De

Zi Wei Dou Shu Constellation: Jiang Xing De De

The Jiang Xing De De (The General Star in Proper Place – 将星得地) constellation is established when Wu Qu resides alone in the Destiny palace at Dragon or Dog, with Tan Lang occupying the opposite palace.

The noble form of this configuration requires that the opposite and triangle palaces be free from disruptive malefic stars or adverse transformations. In addition, the Destiny palace should receive the support of Hua Ke, Hua Quan, Hua Lu, Zuo Fu, You Bi, Tian Kui, and Tian Yue.

The defining characteristic of this formation lies in Wu Qu, the General Star, occupying its exalted position in Dragon or Dog, while Tan Lang in the opposite palace is likewise exalted. The Wealth palace contains Lian Zhen and Tian Xiang, with Tian Xiang exalted in Rat and Horse, thereby moderating the impetuous nature of Lian Zhen. The Career palace contains Zi Wei and Tian Fu, both flourishing in Tiger and Monkey. The combined structure of the opposite and triangle palaces allows the strengths of the chart to be fully expressed.

This formation centers upon Wu Qu. Wu Qu is characterized by determination, solitude, and initiative. Meanwhile, Tan Lang in the Travel palace grants social skill and adaptability in external environments. Together with the changing influence of Tian Ji in the Property palace, the native rarely remains idle.

In early life, the native is suited to extensive learning, travel, and development. After the age of thirty, upon entering the fourth major cycle, personal talents can be fully realized. Hence the saying:

Wu Qu residing in the Tomb reaches prosperity only after thirty.

  • Potential difficulties arising from personal decision-making errors

Verse

The General Star enthroned in exaltation brings auspicious fortune,
Holding high office and authority wherever it goes.
Skilled in strategy, it captures cities and conquers lands,
Its commanding presence stands guard over the frontier.

Classical Texts / Commentary

“Wu Qu in an exalted temple, together with Wen Chang and Wen Qu in the same palace, produces great generals and high ministers.”

“Wu Qu together with Fortune and Horse in the same palace brings wealth acquired in distant lands.”

“Wu Qu in its temple position enjoys illustrious prestige and renowned authority.”

The solitary nature of Wu Qu combined with Tan Lang in the Travel palace does not particularly require the assistance of Zuo Fu, You Bi, Tian Kui, or Tian Yue, nor does it favor Wen Chang or Wen Qu. Instead, the presence of Huo Xing, Ling Xing, or Qing Yang can further bring forth the strengths of Wu Qu and Tan Lang. If accompanied by Hua Lu or Hua Quan, success becomes even more pronounced.

When Wu Qu occupies Dragon or Dog, it resides within the structure known as the Heavenly Net and Earthly Snare. If the Four Malefics occupy the same palace or oppose it, this does not necessarily break the formation. On the contrary, such conditions may motivate the native to overcome obstacles and break through limitations.

Special caution should be exercised regarding Tuo Luo. During periods when more than two Tuo Luo influences affect the Life and Travel axis, errors in judgment may lead to delays, setbacks, or results contrary to expectations.
